Thank you for facilitating the DuPont Asia Pacific External Affairs Regional Meeting in Hong Kong August 23-25 1995. Your creative approach to the facilitation process, and also to the interdependency concepts which you turned into "games" , was instrumental in bringing the group together. I have had good feedback from the participants, including our Global Senior Vice President and our Director, Global Strategic Marketing, who you will recall also attended the meeting.

Chris Lonsdale and Associates began working with LGIS (HK) Ltd. around the first quarter of 1995. Since that time Chris Lonsdale supported us in a number of ways. The relationship started with a team building workshop which we found very valuable for our leadership team. Participating in a range of creative and interactive exercises helped us all more clearly understand the dynamics of an effective team. What we learned during that exercsie we have been working to apply in our day to day operations since the training.

Subsequently, we began an ongoing process to turn LGIS(HK) into a learning organization. Mr. Lonsdale worked with us on a regular basis, and helped guide us in the development of a mission statement for the organization, as well as a strategy to implement change.

We believe very strongly that without the assistance of Chris Lonsdale and Associates we would not have been able to move as far as we have done. Mr. Lonsdale's skill in facilitating our discussions helped us overcome differences of opinion and clearly identify organizational issues where we could make constructive changes. His ability to regularly present new information in a creative and easy to understand form also helped us all continue to learn in a way which has supported us a great deal in our work.

I strongly recommend the work of Chris Lonsdale and Associates for any organization that wishes to implement quality systems, especially if this involves some change to the culture of the company and the thinking of the people working in the company.

For some time now I have wanted to write to you and let you kow how succesful your two day workshop on team building was for our company. I am measuring success here at several different levels. In no particular order:

  1. You got everyone, Chinese and ex-pat alike, to constructively participate (they had fun!)
  2. Through the participative and interactive nature of your workshop, you got people to begin to think about how they think and act with others
  3. People saw how their own subjective "filters" influence communication in ways they are not always aware of
  4. Everyone learned that the company is not made up of "us" and "them" but rather we are all in it "together"
  5. People began to see through other people's eyes.

When we first talked about the Passionate About Customers Events, I wanted to help our people have a clear understanding of our Mission, Positioning and Values. This we achieved as planned.

I think however that you achieved a good deal more. You showed people the value of working together,and how we need to listen to people who may be able to see a better way of doing things. You showed people what a quantum leap was and how customers have a choice. Customer encounters were defined and people were given an opportunity to really think about us and the competition.

I think the sessions achieved even more than that. They were enjoyable. People had fun. They want to do it again. This was a reflection on the high standard of presentation and organisation you brought to the events. It also was a reflection of the fact that people could understand what was being said in their language of understanding.

All in all, the events have been judged a resounding success so on behalf of the company, many thanks.
